Polarisation Maintaining Fused using Hiphotonics WDM, or wavelength division multiplexer, is a kind of WDM whereby two signals of different wavelengths can be separated and merged keeping the polarisation states of the signals. This is accomplished by fusing two polarisation retaining fibres joined together at a set angle in a shared region, therefore producing a WDM device capable of combining or splitting optical signals of varying wavelengths while preserving the polarisation of the data.

Polarisation upholding fused WDM is made to operate by means of polarisation maintaining (PM) fibres, a kind of single-mode fibre capable of preserving the polarisation of the light steered across them. Working with optical signals requiring great polarisation stability—such as those used in telecom, sensor systems, and instrumentation—this is crucial.

Two PM fibres fused together at a certain angle form the fundamental working basis of polarisation maintaining fused WDM. One fiber's central axis is positioned parallel to the polarisation axis of the second fibre, therefore aligning the two fibres. This generates a coupling zone that preserves the polarisation state of the fibres while letting light of several wavelengths pass across them.

From telecom to data centres, sensor systems, and instrumentation, polarisation maintaining fused WDMs find employment in a broad spectrum. Usually used to mix or split optical signals of various wavelengths without changing the polarisation state of the signals, they are

Important parts in optical communication networks, sensor systems, instrumentation, and other uses requiring great polarisation stability are polarisation maintaining fused WDMs. These devices permit accurate and dependable transmission of optical signals of various wavelengths by maintaining the polarisation state of the signals.
